Downtime is minimal. Expect redness and a sensation similar to mild sunburn for a day or two, and some patients notice light pinpoint scabbing that resolves within a week. Most people are comfortable returning to normal activities, sometimes with light makeup, within a day or two.
Avoid sun exposure and retinoid products for several days before your appointment. Afterward, keep your routine gentle, skip makeup for the first 24 hours if possible, and commit to daily SPF while your skin heals and rebuilds.
We apply a topical numbing cream before starting, so most patients find the treatment quite manageable, describing it as pressure and warmth rather than pain. The handheld device passes over the treatment area in sections, and a full-face session typically takes 45 minutes to an hour.
